January is renowned as the month of the Winter blues and when the majority of us decide that our New Year’s resolution will be to start exercising or join the gym. Therefore, this month Birchbox has very cleverly decided to join forces with Women’s Health to bring a delightful box of products and content to ensure that you start the year with your best foot forward.
To coincide with the collaboration, there’s a fabulous subscriber offer included to grab 25% off a Women’s Health magazine subscription. The inserts of the box have been refreshed and instead of the postcard format, they are now in a little booklet. It contains 12 bite sized challenges to keep you motivated and on track for a healthy well being.
The products? Well of course Birchbox never fails and you’ll find a box of all-star samples from revitalising body treats to an antioxidant super tea and a whole host of fortifying skin treats.
First up, as a box exclusive there is a Pilates Band (RRP £7.99) which aims to tone, increase strength and improve muscle endurance. It’s a nifty stretchy resistance band which can be easily incorporated into your workout.
There’s also an innovative brand called Active Bod. This cooling finish lotion (RRP £12 for full size) is a menthol packed moisturiser which will provide an enjoyable cooling sensation to the skin after a hard workout. It contains a naturally derived deodorising ingredient, vitamin E acetate and allantoin to moisturise and repair dry skin.
Following on with a recovery and repair theme, HealGel Intensive (RRP £37.50 for 30ml) is a miracle worker to protect and restore skin with its infusion of organic silicone and collagen boosting peptides and arnica. It can be used all over the body on areas of need of intensive moisturiser.
I was very happy to see one of my favourite products – Philip Kingsley Body Building Conditioner (RRP £19 for 250ml). I swear by this product especially if you have thin, limp fly away hair as it really does add volume which lasts all day! It works especially well when teamed up with the body building shampoo. Slightly pricey for the full sized item but it does last for 2+ months, and that’s even using it daily!
As a treat for the face, this REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (RRP £30 for 50ml) is a fast working exfoliating treatment that improves texture, tone and combats congestion. Particularly a good pick me up for the harsh cold weather of the Winter months. This is radiance in a tube!
To add a piece of glam, there is a full sized Stila Lip Glaze (RRP £15). I received the shade Gleam which is a dusty pink with a golden shimmer. You can wear it on a nude lip or over colour for that extra dazzling effect. Very excited to receive this cult classic.

There are a range of subscriptions however a monthly rolling contract which you can cancel at any time is £10 plus £2.95pp. With the box, you earn points for each product survey you complete and these points can then be redeemed in the Birchbox shop which contains a whole range of products including those which have been sampled in the monthly boxes.
