As May comes to an end, I thought that it’s about time I started showing off the products that were winging their way into my favourite items of the month. Not sure why I haven’t done a favourites post previously however this will now be a regular feature on my blog (: So let’s get started. This month I was truly loving: The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser – 50ml £16 This is one of The Body Shop’s newest product lines. It is made with Amazonian camu camu berries, which contain 60 times more vitamin C concentration on an orange. It is a gel moisturiser, which is a winner in my eyes as a gel formation will moisturise and sink into the skin deeper than a stand alone cream will. Through continued use it will banish signs of dull fatigued looking skin leaving it looking fresh with a healthy looking glow. The fragrance is devine! It smells of oranges and is the perfect wake-me up sensation to skin. It’s non greasy, non sticky. I think I might now invest in the other products within this range as I definitely noticed a difference in the texture of my skin.
Nars The Multiple – £29 I’d seen a few You Tubers using this product in their beauty vlogs so thought that I would give it a go. It is a multi purpose stick for eyes, cheeks, lips and body. I picked up the colour “Orgasm” which is a dusty pink. The creamy formula blends effortlessly into the skin and the sheer tone leaves skin with a dewy glowing look, when applied to cheeks. It’s enriched with Vitamin E and açai oil for antioxidant benefits. A small amount goes a long way so although this has a hefty price tag, I would think that this will last well over 6 months.
Real Techniques Bold Metal 300 Brush – £24 This then leads on nicely to this tapered brush. I chose this brush specifically to use with the Nars Multiple stick as its purpose is for sculpting cheeks for a seamless finish. I love the brush design. The rose gold metallic handle is so pretty and chic. The bristles are super soft and feel very luxurious.
Urban Decay All Nighter MakeUp Setting Spray – 30ml £9 I picked up the travel size edition of this spray basically to sample it as here in the UK we don’t have many brands which stock a setting spray, and if they do then they’re usually very pricey. The full sized version of this is £21. It’s basically a weightless fine mist that you spray over your makeup to ensure that your makeup looks gorgeous for up to 16 hours. I wanted to sample this before the hot weather reaches the UK as there’s nothing worse than being all hot and bothered, and then your makeup starts melting off your face. This spray should prevent that and so far I’m really liking it.
Blistex MedPlus Lip Balm – 7ml £2.69 I tend to stick with the same lip balms such as Carmex or Vaseline. This one looked appealing from the packaging as right now my lips need some much needed TLC as they’re a bit dry and cracked. This balm contains Jojoba Oil and cocoa butter. It smells delicious! It also contains menthol which soothes and cools as soon as its applied. The product also contains SPF 15 protection which is perfect. After the first use I noticed a difference in the condition of my lips and after a day, they were back to being very moisturised and conditioned.
Redken Extreme Anti Snap – 240ml £14 This is a product that continually comes back into my beauty regime. It is a leave-in treatment that smoothes hair cuticles, reduces friction and breakage from brushing and fortifies each strand of hair that is prone to splitting or snapping off. It contains hear protection, protein and ceramide to help provide internal strength. If you have coloured or highlighted hair, then this adds a little TLC to stressed hair. One thing to mention though, I don’t use this product everyday because too much protein on the hair will actually make it break! It’s great to use 2-3 times a week but I would avoid using it daily especially if you have thin/fine hair. Trust me, I’ve had a few hair disasters in my time!
And finally, for my most extravagant purchase of the month, it is my Marc by Marc Jacobs cross over bag. It’s bright orange with silver detailing. It’s a simple design whilst adding a vibrant twist. It’s perfect for when you don’t want a huge bag to carry, exploring the city and going to gigs. It holds a lot including my blogging camera, which is also vital. I love it!! If you’ve been reading my other posts then you’ll know that Marc Jacobs is my favourite designer. The leather is super soft and the pop of colour adds a Summer vibe to any outfit.
Let me know your thoughts on any of the products that I have posted. Similarly, if you had an all time favourite this month let me know as I love discovering and sampling new products. Much Love Hayley xx
