After much anticipation, the limited edition Selfridges Summer beauty box has arrived!! Containing 13 beauty essentials with a combined value of £176, the box retails at £40 and is sure to sell out fast. There are a variety of well known and up-coming high quality brands, all available to purchase separately in-store. I absolutely love it! There’s not one brand included that I don’t love already or won’t use. It’s hands down the best selection of items I’ve came across. I bet you’re eager to find out more so here are the details of what’s included….
First of all, all the items are contained within this huge make up bag by Alphabet Bags. The moto on the front just makes me feel happy and in the mood for Summer and vacations. The bag holds a lot! It’s just bigger than a piece of A4 paper, has a zip fastening and is made from canvas. This bag alone retails at £24.
Tangle Teezer in turquoise and neon pink. This is a miracle brush and can be used on wet or dry hair to detangle. It doesn’t pull the hair so reduces breakage. After continual use, you really do notice a difference. I’ve been a fan of Tangle Teezer for years now. And, if you have hair extensions then you really need to have one of these as when I had extensions, this brush prolonged the life of them.
Eyeko Fat Eyeliner. This is like a big felt tip pen. Effortless to apply, it will create big bold lines with a lasting colour. The pen colour is black and is smudge proof. It also contains algae extract which is conditioning and kind to skin.
A set of four pastel sorbet coloured hair ties by Ribband. I absolutely love these! They are kind to hair and don’t snag or pull hair when tied in a ponytail. They also don’t leave a mark in your hair showing where it’s been tied up so you can go from daytime to evening glam in seconds. They are stretchy elastic but are not too tight on the hair.
Urban Decay De-Slick make up setting spray. I actually posted one of these in my May favourites. I love Urban Decay and had been wanting to try a setting spray for a long time. This is a light mist which is perfect for keeping your make up in place all day, reducing the need for any top ups. It’s also brilliant for hot humid weather as I usually find that my make up comes off when I’m all sweaty. This prevents that and if you’re a Londoner hopping on and off tubes, live in a warm country or are about to go on vacation then I would highly recommend this.
Nars lip gloss in Orgasm. I also posted the Nars – The Multiple in my May favourites which was also in the shade Orgasm. This is a pretty pinky orange with a gold shimmer. Perfect for those Summer days.
Illamasqua Glamore Lipstick in the shade lustre. I’ve wanted to try this brand for so long. This is a full size lipstick which retails at £18.50, so with this and the Alphabet bag you’ve already gained the cost of the entire box! This lipstick is a very bright fuscia pink and I thought that it wouldn’t suit me at all. But oddly enough it looks amazing!! You require frequent top ups however it stains your lips a very pretty pink. So in actual fact if you wanted a minimal look, once the lipstick has worn off and you have the stain, you could just add some lip balm and it would be looking fresh again. Really like this and I’m definitely going to explore the brand and their other products.
James Reed Gradual Face Tan. This includes SPF15 and leaves skin with a nice glow. It’s not too dark and when applied, you can avoid wearing foundation. It didn’t leave any stripes/blotchy marks. I really liked it for a pick me up minimal glow.
Nails Inc Gel Effect Nail Polish. This is in the shade Chiltern Street which is a baby pink. In addition to the nail polish, a £10 voucher is also included to redeem on nail services at Nails Inc – The Paint Shop
Clarins Eau De Jardins smoothing body cream. An indulgent body cream that is enriched with three organic buds to cocoon the skin with rich moisture, leaving a touch of Eau des Jardins fragrance that lingers all day. Beech bud extract helps to improve skin hydration while sorbier bud extract boosts the skins natural radiance. Blackcurrant bud is the final selection, known for its high antioxidant content and its soothing, comforting properties. The bottle is 100ml. 200ml retails at £29.
Rodial Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel. This is an innovative anti–ageing formula which reduces the appearance of wrinkles while smoothing and plumping skin. The product works by forming a second film–like skin around the face to protect, reduce redness and firm the skin. Skin will appear volumised while the elasticity and tonicity will be improved. With continued use skin is left looking dramatically defined and volumized with a firmer appearance around the jaw line and cheek bones are given improved tonicity.
Caudalie Grape Water. This is a fine cooling mist made from organic grapes. It is fragrance free and once applied to skin, there’s no need to blot or rub in. It soothes, moisturises and cools the skin. It can be used on top of make up and over the whole body. Perfect on those warm Summer days.
STARSKIN Instaglam Foaming Peeling Perfection Puff. This is an easy and effective solution for the removal of dead skin cells which can cause dull skin and clogged pores. The puff is infused with natural AHA ingredients, natural plant ext acts and an advanced fermentation formula to gently exfoliate skin reducing the appearance of wrinkles and creating a lustrous radiant skin tone.
STARSKIN After Party Brightening Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Facial Mask. This intensely energising and radiance boosting mask will even skin tone, correct dark spots and smooth the skin texture. The formula is made from fermented cocnut juice which contains essential vitamins and has natural soothing and hydrating qualities. It is said to deliver top spa results after 20 minutes. I cannot wait to try this mask out!
And that’s it. Quite a selection isn’t it! Let me know whether you managed to get your hands on one of these boxes, what your thoughts are on the box and selection of items and what your favourites items were. I seriously think this is the best box that Selfridges have created and I’m super excited to try out all the products.
Until next time,
