March 2016 Favourites

Hi Guys

Can you believe that we’ve almost reached April?! This year is seriously flying by! March seemed to go by in a flash however it was a great month for me to discover some new products from some of the brands I already love.  Some of the items were rather pricey and I hold my hands up, this month I did splurge! However all products are working out very well for me and I don’t regret a penny spent.  So without further ado here are the products that I was loving during March.

Estee Lauder Clear Difference – £42

Ok question… have you ever applied your make up and then could wipe it all off with one finger swipe? Or had the feeling that your make up was sitting on top of the skin rather than sinking in flawlessly? Well this was my big issue this month.  I tried various high street moisturisers and primers this month however nothing seemed to resolve the issue.  I also upped my water intake as sometimes this issue means that your skin is dehydrated.  Then mid month I made the incredible discovery of the Estee Lauder Clear Difference Moisturiser.  It’s a mattifying hydrating gel which is oil free and oil controlling.  It banishes excess shine, calms any skin irritations, minimises pores leaving skin looking smoothed and refined.  It’s light weight and smells incredibly fresh!  The gel sinks nicely into skin and dries leaving a slightly sticky/tacky feeling. However that’s just the mattifying formula and it therefore enables foundation to stick to it.  I found that my foundation blended nicely into my skin and I required no top ups to my make up throughout the day.  Everything stayed in place even after a rather sweaty tube ride.  I apply this gel every morning after I’ve washed my face.  I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation – £30

Every now and again I like to try different foundations as my skin sometimes needs a slightly fuller coverage or I want to switch from a matte to glossy look.  To be honest, my skin usually doesn’t need too much foundation so when I tried the Double Wear foundation last year I found that it felt quite heavy on the skin and that it was clogging my pores.  I discovered that the brand now does a light version of their double wear, which means it has less coverage and the consistency is less thick and heavy.  This foundation really does feel feather light and gives a medium coverage.  I picked up the colour/intensity 1 as I am VERY pale!  The product is said to give 15 hours wear, it controls oil and contains an SPF 10.  It’s easy to blend into the skin and allows skin to breathe throughout the day.  I also found that you don’t need to apply too much to the skin and even without concealer, it manages to mask any imperfections or dark circles. Love love love!!

Space NK Flat Top Powder Brush – £35

I would swear by my Beauty Blender however I wanted to try a brush to blend in my foundation as I see so many vloggers using a brush.  I’ve tried various brushes, for example the Real Techniques foundation brush, and I always found that they never really buffed in foundation that well.  I would always have to reach for my Beauty Blender or use my fingers to blend into the skin.  That was until I came across this brush in Space NK.  It’s from their own line and is a soft flat top brush.  It says it’s a powder brush however the flat top makes it perfect for buffing foundation into the skin.  It leaves my foundation looking airbrushed and flawless.  The brush is made with premium synthetic fibers and is very easy to use/easy to hold thanks to the long handle.

Charlotte Tilbury – The Dolce Vita Eyeshadow Palette – £38

I have been eyeing this palette up for a few months and I finally made the splurge!  As soon as I saw the collection of colours, I fell in love with this palette.  Everyday I wear browns and copper tones on my eyes as it makes my green eyes more vibrant.  This is a collection of four earthy tones which consist of a champagne which is perfect as a base over the lid or wearing alone for a day time look.  There is a gorgeous copper tone which can help achieve a smokey eye or applied on the water line for a sultry look.  There’s a dark brown and my favourite which is perfect for a night out, a gorgeous sparkly brown.  I like to line my lash line with this as it achieves an effortless glamorous look. The eye shadows are a cream in powder which are enriched with natural oils and silicon treatedpearls.  The colours are easy to blend leaving you with a seemless pop of colour.

Imperial Leather Shower Cream – Sweets Edition £1.80

This month I ran out of my favourite shower gel, Snow Fairy from Lush.  So I was on the search for something that was sweet smelling.  Imperial Leather have this month released a collection of shower creams based on various sweets.  For example, sherbet lemons and fruit salad.  When I had a sniff of the marshmallow one, I was hooked! It smells exactly like you would think it would, with also a hint of peony.  The cream lathers well, hydrates skin and leaves it feeling smooth.  Currently this product is on offer in Boots for £1.  If you want to try it, be quick as I’m not sure how long the offer is on for.

These were the top 5 items that I was absolutely adoring this month.  Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you’re views were.  Also, if there were any products that you were loving this month, I would love to hear what they were! I hope you enjoyed reading this post.

Until next time..

Love Hayley xx

  1. I’ve been looking for something that will keep my makeup in place for a long time! Even when I’ve applied powder over the top of my foundation, it still feels like I could easily rub it all off – may have to give the mattifying cream a go! ☺️ xx

    1. I would definitely recommend it. My makeup now looks flawless. You should go to the Estée Lauder counter and ask for a sample, you won’t be disappointed with it 😊x
