A pinch and a punch, it’s the 1st of the month!!
How is everyone on this incredibly sunny day? I say it all the time but I cannot believe that we are in another month already. Where does time go!? However it does mean that I get to show you all the items that I was loving during April. Let’s get started….
I mentioned in one of my previous posts that I was struggling to find a decent day moisturiser which kept my make up in place without slipping. I decided to go back to an old favourite, the Soap and Glory Speed Plump All Day Super Moisture Marvel. This product smells amazing! It contains a moisture plump technology which leaves skin looking plumper and more radiant. It contains a watermelon fruit complex which hydrates the skin. The formula is non greasy so it sinks deep into the skin leaving it with a silky smooth mask. My makeup has been looking flawless so I know it’s working it’s magic well. It’s tailored for those with dry and dehydrated skin however once you’re skin is full of moisture again, I would suggest moving to a normal combination skin moisturiser.
I’d been recommended to try out the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Concealer. This product is fabulous! Not only as an under eye concealer, but also as a highlighter. It’s easy to apply – you basically twist the top to enable the product to slowly come through the sponge on the top. This then allows a smooth application and doesn’t drag on the skin around the eye. Fine lines are invisible as are under eye bags. The product stays in place all day. Love it!
I’ve been on the search for a good long lasting matte lip colour. NYX recently launched their new line of Lingerie Push Up liquid lipsticks. I picked up the shade 06 which is a pale pinky nude. Infact it makes an excellent alternative to the Kylie Jenner Candy K. The product is easy to apply, makes lips look fuller, gives a flawless colour and stays in place for hours, even after eating and drinking. I would say that it can feel slightly drying however I think that’s the same with all matte formulas so you just need to pop a little lip balm on.
The Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection brush 103 has been my saviour this month. Not only is it gorgeous with its gold handle, the brush is super soft and is perfect for applying a finishing powder. As the top is angled, it allows product to reach in all contours of the face, in particular the corners of the nose. These are hands down my favourite line of makeup brushes.
When you’re going on a night out or having a day in the office, I think that it’s still important to ensure that you’re makeup stays in place all day. For me, I don’t have a lot of time to keep touching up my makeup therefore I have been loving the L’Oreal Infallible Fixing Mist. This is a light weight mist that will set your makeup in place all day. I apply it once I have applied my foundation. Once dry, I then add some finishing powder. I’ve found that this works best. It keeps pores hidden and my makeup looks exactly like it was at the start of the day, which on a typical day is 13 hours later.
We put our skin through a lot especially when you work in the city. You know the script, pollution, tube journeys and air con can have an adverse effect on our skin making it dry and dull. The Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Moisture Mask is the product I have been reaching for every few days. It’s actually a cleanser and a mask however I tend to use this as a pick me up mask, leaving it on for 10 mins then washing off with warm water. I’ve found that if I have any dry skin on my face, this will work like magic deeply hydrating my skin. Once it’s washed off, the dry skin has vanished. With regular use I also noticed the brightness coming back into my skin and the overall condition has significantly improved. It’s smells delicious and fresh, and is a non greasy light formula.
Lastly, I went back to an old hero of mine. It is of course the Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Anti Aging Balm. Let’s face it, we’re not getting any younger and for me, I want something that will restore my youth for as long as possible therefore finding the right eye cream is crucial. This to me is a wonder product. Although slightly expensive, it does last for a long time and you pay for the quality of the product. The product is a cream gel, it sinks deep into the skin hydrating the eye area in seconds. There’s no residue left and skin feels silky soft. I’ve found that it improves fine lines over continual use and makes my skin look firmer and brighter. You can also use it as an eye mask should you feel like you’re eyes are rather dry. I would definitely recommend this product and it is by far my favourite item right now.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know if you have tried any of these items and what your thoughts were. Also, if there was a product that you would recommend please post your comments in the box below. I love trialling out and hearing new products.
Have a great May Bank Holiday
