Liz Earle Skincare Collection – The Botanist’s Cabinet

Hi Lovelies,

If any of you are looking for some last minute Christmas gift inspiration, or some post Christmas pampering for yourself, then you should definitely check out the Liz Earle Botanist’s Cabinet collection.  Available from Boots, both online and in-store, this collection is inspired by the art of a Botanist crafting special blends and storing them in an apothecary cabinet.  Similar to a beauty advent calendar, each compartment is filled with a botanical treat so you can create a skin care routine.  This is currently on an introductory price of £30 before it moves to it’s full price of £60.  The contents are worth much more than £30 and it also includes a full size Cleanse and Polish hot cloth cleanser worth £14.

The box has a gorgeous design with a magnet closure.  It could definitely become a great place to store items from beauty boxes, makeup etc.  The box contains the following 9 items:

Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser 150ml

2 Pure Muslin Cloths

Instant Boost Skin Tonic 50ml

Deep Cleansing Mask 15ml

2 Sponges

Intensive Nourishing Treatment Mask 15ml

Brightening Treatment Mask 15ml

Superskin™ Concentrate for Night 2ml

The Botanist’s Recipe Guide

The Hot Cloth Cleanser is a rich and creamy cleanser that effectively removes daily grime and make up including stubborn mascara, leaving skin feeling soft, clean and glowing.  The original version of the product contains eucalyptus oil to purify the skin, rosemary to tone and chamomile and cocoa butter to sooth and moisturise.  Although you may think this is a night time skin care routine, using morning and night you’ll start to see noticeable differences in the moisture levels of your skin.  I’ve also used mine with my Clarisonic after cleansing and using the muslin cloth to remove.

There are two muslin cloths included and these last for ages.  Of course they go slightly dirty if you are removing a full face of make up however you can wash these in the washing machine as they will keep their shape and texture.

After you’ve cleansed the skin, it’s recommended that you use the Skin Tonic to boost hydration and radiance.  It is infused with aloe vera, skin soothing calendula, chamomile and cucumber to refresh.  It smells amazing as it has a blend of rose scented geranium, lavender and sweet orange essential oils.

If you choose to use a mask, pop one on before the Skin Tonic.  This set has a selection of masks which are an excellent size to trial and to tailor to your skin needs before splurging on the full sized item.

If you have oily or blemish prone skin, the deep cleansing mask would suit your needs.  It is delicately scented with rose scented geranium and will clean deep into your pores leaving you skin feeling thoroughly clean.

If you feel like your skin has dulled down and you want to enhance overall radiance, then the brightening mask will be perfect for you.  This mask contains a radiance boosting blend of camphor oil, witch hazel and aloe vera.  This is a quick fix treatment mask and only needs to be left on the skin for 2-3 minutes before washing off using the muslin cloth.

If your skin simply requires a pick me up to moisturise, hydrate, soothe and improve radiance then the intensive nourishing mask is for you.  This mask is particularly good when the weather turns very cold and you start to notice dry skin appearing. It contains apricot kernel, borage and rose scented geranium oils.

The Super Skin Concentrate is a luxurious oil that contains a blend of cranberry, borage and reship seed oils.  The oil is incredibly nourishing revealing smoother supple and more toned skin.  The oil sinks into the skin easily and doesn’t leave an oily film behind.

The sponges can be used with either the hot cloth cleanser or the masks instead of the muslin cloth for exfoliation and to banish any dead skin cells.

This is a fantastic gift set and would be perfect for anyone in your life, or for yourself, who is looking to start or change their skincare regime.  As well all know it is important to install an effective skincare routine to prevent signs of premature ageing and to keep us looking in tip top condition.  I would highly recommend this as it’s enabled me to try the Liz Earle brand at a fraction of the cost.

Hope you are all having a great festive season and are being pampered and spoilt. You deserve it!

Seasons Greetings,

Love Hayley xx
